There is a very funny scene in the sitcom, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia where two of the show’s main characters, Mac and Charlie, fake their own deaths in order to save themselves from their father, who has recently been paroled. They hatch an elaborate plan, involving stolen credit cards and a car blowing up. Of course, the car doesn’t blow up, but leaves one of the characters injured. So, rather than going to the emergency room to have his wounds treated, he opts instead to use poppers in order to relive him of his pain and anxiety. Obviously, Mac, the character who inhales the poppers Philadelphia, then becomes a bit out of his mind and does things in the scene which are hilarious and well worth the watch as far as this might be well concerned

Here is some information about poppers in our culture today.
Poppers is the name for assorted alkyl nitrites, such as butyl nitrite, amyl nitrite and isobutyl nitrite. Historically, doctors would prescribe these nitrites to patients with heart troubles. They were easy to administer and were immediately effective upon release. They were given the name “poppers” because they needed to be split open or “popped” in order to use. Once popped, vapors are released and inhaled.
Though not prescribed for heart conditions such as angina, today, they are well known as recreational or party drugs. Bursting onto the gay scene in the nineteen sixties, these drugs became a staple in many communities all over the world. Places such as New York City, San Francisco and Philadelphia found poppers a widely sought after and used the drug at the time. It was generally agreed upon that poppers helped with relaxation and sexual arousal, helping to make the act of sex sometimes much more exciting and less painful.
When inhaled, the effects are quick and intense. Some report that it takes only a second or two to notice the effects. Some have said that they combine poppers with other psychotropic drugs such as ecstasy so that they will feel the “high” more quickly. Possible effects can be euphoria or tactile or sensorial enhancement, among other things.
They can make you feel suddenly flush and warm all over.
Though they were outlawed for public consumption in the nineteen-eighties, they are still readily available “commercially” in the United States and often sold as room fresheners or video head cleaners to disguise their purpose, poppers are still very heavily utilized in many scenes today, as well as just used recreationally. It has been noted that, while some other so-called club drugs such as ecstasy, ketamine, or crystal meth use has declined in recent times, the use of poppers has stayed constant in certain groups of people and for certain reasons, most notably, because of the amazing and immediately sense of sexual stimulation you feel when you inhale the vapors. The effect does not last very long. But it is extreme and hard-hitting and makes you want to be touched, to say the least.
Be careful. And have fun!
